Tournament rules

 

Date:                Saturday 1^st June, 10 a.m. to Sunday 2^nd June 3 p.m.

Venue:              Padel4U2 – padel club

Modality:

• One category only with mixed teams
• Pre-selection in groups; play-offs for classified teams
• International Padel Federation Rules
• Matches without referees
• Total participants registered: 21 teams

Tournamemt rules

The organizing committee, taking into consideration the number of participants, the time schedule and the availability of courts, has decided that the following rules apply to the tournament:

• International padel rules will apply – will be attached to the convocation email;
• The 21 teams will be distributed in 6 groups by random draw
• There will be 3 groups with 3 teams and 3 groups with 3 teams.
• Classification for play-offs: 16 teams go to play-offs, as follows:
  • 1^st and 2^nd team of each group go to play-offs
  • For groups with 4 teams, the 3^rd classified goes to play-offs
  • The best last team in any of the groups, determined by the scores obtained. For this purpose, and for the groups of 4 teams, the score obtained against the 3^rd classified in the group will not be counted.

• There will be a final A for 1^st and 2^nd place, and final B for 3^rd place.

• Teams must be present by the court’s gate 15 min. before the start of match. It is recalled that the time schedule is for guidance only. Timing may vary due to playing results.

• Padel balls will be distributed by the Organizing Committee.

• The recording of results will be ensured by the Organizing Committee.

Match rules:

• Pre-classification phase and play-offs:

–        Teams play against all other teams in their group.

–        Sets are won at 6 games, with a difference of 2 (7-5). In case of tie at 6 games, a tie-break at 7 points (with a difference of 2 points) is played.

–        Matches are played at the best of 2 sets of 6 games each. In case of tie at 1 game each, there will be a tie-break.

–        Side court changes are done by the set only.

–        5 minutes warm-up prior to the match.

–        Service: first teams servicing to be determined by players by playing a first ball (to be played at least once by each player).

• Final A and B: matches are won by the best of 3 sets. If sets are tied at 6 games, a tiebreak of 7 points with 2 points difference will be played.
