“Pachanga de inauguracion” de las pistas del European Interinstitutional Centre (CIE) – Overijse

Este año 2016 ha empezado con una noticia que va a ser un punto de inflexiòn en Europadel, la Comisiòn Europea a travès de la Oficina para Infraestructuras y Logìstica (OIB) ha construido dos fabulosas pistas de padel cubiertas de ùltima generaciòn en su Centro Interinstitucional Europeo (CIE) en Overijse. CIE es un centro deportivo y de recreo que funciona desde 1974. En Octubre 2015 el centro reabriò sus puertas pero totalmente renovado y con unas instalaciones funcionales y modernas, entre las que se encuentran dos flamantes pistas de padel.

This year 2016 has started with an event which will be a turning point in Europadel, the European Commission through the Office for Infrastructure and Logistics (OIB) has built two fabulous “last generation” padel courts in its European Interinstitutional Centre (CIE) in Overijse. CIE is a sports and recreation center in operation since 1974. In October 2015 the center reopened its activity but completely renovated with modern and functional facilities, among which are two brand new padel courts.

Europadel como “Cercle sportive” de la Comisiòn no puede màs que agradecer los esfuerzos y el apoyo de la OIB y, en particular de Ms. Paola Momoli y de Mr. Stephen Price por su apoyo al padel y por haber hecho realidad el sueño de muchos de nosotros de tener estas fabulosas instalaciones.

La Junta Directiva de Europadel desde 2012 ha perserverado, manteniendo reuniones con la OIB  para hacer realidad este proyecto, que se ha concretado finalmente  gracias a la visiòn y al apoyo de la OIB

Para inaugurar las pistas Europadel celebrò una pachanga el pasado 30 de Enero (aunque la inauguracion oficial de todo el centro sera en Abril) seguido de un cocktail. Al evento asistieros miembros de la OIB con su director Mr. Marc Mouligneau a la cabeza.

Europadel as “Sport Club” of the European Commission can only be grateful for the efforts and support of the OIB and, in particular, from Ms. Paola Momoli and Mr. Stephen Price for supporting padel and for making real the dream of many of us with these fabulous facilities.

The Europadel Board persevered since 2012, holding meetings with the OIB, to make real this project, which has finally materialized thanks to the vision and support of the OIB.

To kick off the padel courts, Europadel held a traditional “pachanga” last January 30^th (although the official opening day of the entire center will be in April) followed by a cocktail. The director of OIB Mr. Marc Mouligneau and some members of his staff came to the event as well.

Ahora sòlo queda disfrutar de las pistas, organizar eventos y torneos, y en definitiva crear un ambiente festivo que nos permita hacer llegar el padel a todos los que quieran unirse a este grandioso deporte.

Now we have just to enjoy the courts, organize events and tournaments, and ultimately create a festive atmosphere that allows us to get padel to all who want to join this great sport.
